ON-SITE FOOT HEALTH CHECKS AND GAIT ANALYSIS

A Feetlife Podiatrist will come to your office and provide

20-minute gait analysis and biomechanic assessments for your staff

Our Mission
To promote proactive foot health by providing convenient, approachable and professional podiatry consultations and high quality foot care products.

Background

Feetlife is a leading provider of foot care products and services for consumers and businesses. We passionately believe that if you feel great on your feet it improves your overall performance and well-being, so our aim is to provide expert advice and solutions that are right for our customers.

Our Podiatrists

All our podiatrists are experts in the field of biomechanics. Our on-site consultations provide the same thorough assessment as you would expect in our clinic. Using advanced 3-D scanning technology, the podiatrist will accurately measure any instability in your gait (how your foot functions). Many people with flat feet or high arches have a tendancy to "over-pronate" which can cause heel and arch pain ("plantar fasciitis"), shin and ankle pain, knee and lower back pain.

All our Podiatrists are registered with the Health Professions Council and members of The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.

What is included in the Foot Health Check consultation with Feetlife?

The Podiatrist provides foot care advice and in particular biomechanic advice and recommendations which includes a Gait Analysis assessment. A Gait Analysis is the assessment and measurement the body’s movements and mechanics during walking and running. The movement of the lower limbs can help understand why some people suffer from arch, heel & ankle pains, shin splints, knee, hip & lower back pains.

1.      The podiatrist will ask you some direct questions regarding any aches, pains or general concerns you may have regarding your feet or lower limbs. They are required to ask some personal details such as name, date of birth and medical history.

2.      The podiatrist will observe your feet and lower limbs to see if there is anything which may be cause for concern, for example Flat Feet.

3.      The podiatrist may decide to give you a gait analysis in order to assess the extent of any bio-mechanic deviation from what is normally expected.

4.      In most cases the podiatrist will suggest a plan of action to help improve your condition. For example, they may give you some stretches and strengthening exercises which you can benefit from, or recommend that you wear orthotics to add more support, stability and correction to your gait.

Confidentiality

The information you give to our podiatrist will not be shared without your approval.

Orthotics

During your consultation with our podiatrist you may wish to order orthotics. If the podiatrist feels that you will benefit from orthotics they will explain to you the different options we offer; custom orthotics, semi custom orthotics and pre-fabricated orthotics.

Orthotics are designed to re-align the feet and guide them into their optimum position allowing them to function correctly when standing, walking or running. They re-align the body's posture so your whole body feels the benefit.

Ordering custom and semi-custom orthotics

The process for ordering custom and semi-custom orthotics is that the podiatrist sends a prescription (and cast for custom orthotics) to our appointed laboratory in order to get the orthotics made according to the needs of the individual.

As these are not off-the-shelf orthotics it is not possible to show you your exact orthotics in advance, however the podiatrist will explain exactly what they are prescribing in terms of the dimensions & specifications of the orthotics, and they will make sure you fully understand what you are ordering and they will make detailed notes of this during the consultation.

Our podiatrist Quality Checks every pair of orthotics before they are sent out to you. Normally you will receive your orthotics within 14 working days from date of order. If it is likely to take any longer then you will be informed by phone or email. The orthotics will be sent to you by Recorded 1st class post with Royal Mail.

Wearing your new orthotics
An instruction sheet is sent out with your new orthotics and you should carefully read this.

Follow-up service

A Feetlife podiatrist will be happy to talk to you over the phone should you have any questions, queries or concerns regarding your new orthotics. Any further follow up consultation regarding your orthotics required within 3 months of your order will be arranged with a podiatrist in our Edgware clinic. Any charges for follow up consultations will be advised at time of booking.

Custom Orthotics and Insoles

At Feetlife we use a sophisticated Scanning machine to analyse the bio-mechanical function of the feet whilst walking and stationary. Customers are asked to walk over a computerised mat which records the precise movement of their feet in motion, enabling us to determine whether the person has a tendency to pronate or suprinate during walking. Excessive tendency in either direction means that too much pressure is put on certain areas and this ultimately causes foot pain, knee pain, lower back and even neck pain.

We use the precise information gathered in the analysis to produce an orthotic which is specifically tailored to the individual.

We have been using this new technology for over 5 years and the results have been outstanding. The orthotics are proven to improve comfort, performance and reduce injury.

Call one of our advisors to find out more about the process or to book an on-site demonstration.
